About this Project

After 16 months of construction, the new 60-acre St. Louis County Government Services Center in Cook, MN is complete. This $24 million roads facility includes an 82,000 sq. ft. heated transportation building, a large office building that will house staff from several departments, a 16,500 sq. ft. structure for cold storage, and a 16,500 sq. ft. structure for salt and sand storage.

Serving more than 2,000 square miles, this new facility provides a centralized base for public works crews. For the salt and sand storage structure, Wieser Concrete produced 50 – 12 ft. L panels for the outer walls and 25 – 12 ft. T panels for the center divider walls. The panels were installed on two different trips, with the outside walls being set before the hoop building was erected and the center wall being set after the building was up. A salt and sand storage bunker silo from Wieser Concrete is an investment that ensures reliable protection from the elements, easy loading and unloading, optimal storage capacity, and long life combined with low maintenance.
