About this Project
To support St. Louis County’s winter road maintenance program, Wieser Concrete manufactured and delivered a custom precast concrete salt and sand storage facility in Duluth, Minnesota. The structure was designed to provide organized storage for de-icing materials while offering long-term durability.
The facility features 152 linear feet of 12-foot-tall precast L-panels on each side, creating strong, self-supporting exterior retaining walls. Inside, 12-foot-tall precast T-panels divide the structure into multiple storage bays. This allows different materials to be stored separately while maximizing usable space.

Designed for efficiency and longevity, the precast wall system requires minimal maintenance and provides the strength needed to withstand the constant loading and unloading of heavy materials. A corrosion-inhibiting admixture is also used to help the panels resist deterioration caused by harsh storage materials.
Wieser Concrete supplied the project with manufacturing, delivery, and installation of the precast wall system, helping provide St. Louis County with a dependable storage solution for years to come.
