About this Project
In early 2017, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation began a rehabilitation project for I-94 near Hudson, WI. The objective of the project is to reduce congestion and provide efficient and safe access to I-94 for the growing commuter traffic to and from the Minneapolis-St. Paul metro area. Improvements to the interstate include replacing deteriorating sections of roadway and shoulders, two bridge decks over Front Street, placing median barrier walls, widening a bridge deck over WIS 35 N, adding two noise walls, and adding three MSE retaining walls.
Wieser Concrete produced over 24,000 square feet of MSE retaining walls to be placed alongside I-94. The walls are being shipped and installed amid a congested, high traffic area, which is an obvious challenge in road construction. The median barrier walls on the road were also manufactured by Wieser Concrete and provide for a safe driving and working environment. Contracted by Hoffman Construction, the rehabilitation project’s planned completion date is November 14, 2018.
