Out and About

Summer is a busy time for our Agriculture Sales Team with many opportunities to mix and mingle with friends, old and new.

During July, our team participated in Wisconsin’s largest summer show, Wisconsin Farm Technology Days held in New London, Wisconsin. Even though rain found its way to the show, attendance was good and we had a great time sharing our agricultural precast solutions with many attendees.

In addition, we attended the Minnesota Cattleman’s Annual Tour held July 10th, in Little Falls, Minnesota. This event included stops at Smude Sunflower Oil, Hanneken Angus, HB Farms, DLCC Ranch, Virnig Farms, Vince Waldoch Farm, Rolling Thunder Ranch and Camp Ripley Military Base.  Each stop on the tour offered opportunities to learn and share best practices and innovation.

Coming up in August are Minnesota FarmFest and the Farm Progress Show. Stop by and check out our newest precast innovations.

Boxed In

A standard precast product for most, box culverts are a versatile structure that lends itself to many applications. Box Culverts are used in road construction to allow water, people, vehicles and cattle to pass underneath. Each project requires a specific size to meet the engineered specifications and Wieser Concrete takes pride in our ability to customize our products to meet the needs of our customers perfectly!

Earlier this year, we had the opportunity to produce a custom endwall for a box culvert on a railroad project. This structure (pictured here) was designed and produced as a separate structure that would then be shipped to the jobsite and set in place. This structure was poured in multiple pieces and erected in our plant to ensure the finished structure was accurate and true to project specifications. This completed endwall was 47’ wide at its widest point with 30’ wings on each side and a height of 13’ at the box culvert openings.

The last challenge but certainly not the least, was delivering this structure to the jobsite for its final installation. Our production team disassembled and moved components directly to flatbed trailers that would transport them to the project site. These endwall components and the box culvert were then transported to the jobsite for final installation.

Below are two additional projects that show other box culvert applications. Precast products save time and labor on the jobsite with a quality product that will stand the test of time. Standard or custom, Wieser Concrete will deliver the structures your project needs.
